About Lantmännen Oats

Lantmännen Oats has a production site in Kimstad outside of Norrköping where we have an oat mill with a capacity of 55,000 tons as well as an oat processing facility. Lantmännen Oats produces ingredients for functional foods, such as PromOat oat beta glucan (water soluble fibre), that helps lower cholesterol levels in the body. Lantmännen Oats also manufactures the unique PrOatein oat protein, a raw material for the food industry as well as Avenacare; advanced ingredients for beauty products.
Lantmännen pursues oats-based research, development and production
There is a large and increasing global interest in oats and for processed oat products. Oats are an important part of Swedish agriculture and Nordic oats have gained a strong position in the world due to their high quality. Oat is a natural GMO free crop with good taste and several important health benefits, for example they contribute to more stable blood sugar levels and helps our digestive system.
Oats are a strategic investment area for the Lantmännen group and a business with great development potential. Today, Lantmännen is the market leader in the Nordics when it comes to oats with four oat mills and a large range of oat-based foods and ingredients. Our market leading brands, such as AXA, offers a wide range of oat-based breakfast products to consumers. We also offer medical foods such as SPC-Flakes, that have beneficial effects on stomach and bowel diseases.
Lantmännen is at the forefront when it comes to research and innovation with the aim of developing ingredients based on oats and oat-based products for the future. Lantmännen pursues research both within the company as well as together with partners such as ScanOats in Swedish Lund and the part-owned Swedish biotech company CropTailor. Together with Swedish farmers − our owners – we develop and improve oat varieties and seeds. With advanced research and mapping of the entire oat genome, we are acquiring more and more knowledge that creates opportunities for the future.
Also, to create circular flows, Lantmännen utilises waste products from oat processing, such as oat husks, for energy in production as well as heating in nearby areas.
Lantmännen Oats - Our Products
PrOatein oat protein is a unique, patented natural protein concentrate from oats that can help manufacturers to meet the fast-growing consumer demand for nutritious, protein-enriched foods and supplements. PrOatein, like the oat grain it comes from, is rich in essential amino acids, including the desirable branched-chain amino acids which are important for muscle growth and recovery. Compared to other isolated proteins, it also has a great taste.
PromOat oat beta-glucan is a soluble oat bran fibre, extracted from wholegrain oats without the use of chemicals. PromOat is a natural source of beta glucan, the dietary fibre in oat bran that provides important health and functional benefits. In the body, oat beta-glucan helps to maintain healthy cholesterol levels, blood glucose levels and healthy digestion.
Avenacare contains active oat beta-glucans for healthy skin and hair. Avenacare is derived from the oat bran of high quality, non-GMO, Nordic oats through a patented, chemical-free process. The gentle formulation is the natural way to incorporate the power of oats into cosmetics and personal care products.
